We have arrived in Glacier National Park and are staying tonight in a cabin in East Glacier at the Dancing Bears Inn (can you believe the name?). This is the most interesting town win which we have spent time. We walked to the Amtrak station and it's an original for sure. There is a group of people in town who are driving vehicles from the 1920's. Each year, they get together to travel together as a group. They believe that the journey and not the destination is the top priority....our goal as well.
The local variety store carries a vast selection of wines for very reasonable prices (at least from a Canadian's perspective). We ate at a Mexican restaurant tonight, drinking from a bottle of wine that we had purchased earlier from the grocery store....very unusual for us.
On TV later, there was a program on training horses followed by a Roy Rogers movie as I'm writing this.
Wednesday, we plan to drive on the Going to the Sun road .... which we understand is not for the faint of heart for those who do not like riding on the very edge.
Regards to all,
Anne
