This morning, we walked along the beautiful Pacific Coast Trail and heard the roar of the ocean waves and the dinging of the channel markers. Accordingly to locals, August is often called Foggest but we have had nothing but perfect blue skies and wonderful views.
At 11 am Pacific time today, I finally stood in the Pacific Ocean and soaked up the feeling and scenery.
Shortly after, we were off and on our way east. Hopefully, the wind will now be on our back for the trip home.
We had another spectacular ride from Tofino to Nanaimo with a brief stop to walk through the Cathedral Grove. These Douglas Fir trees date back 800 years. The trees are very tall and very wide at the bottom. The name Cathedral certianly captures the serenity of the trees.
We stopped at Marguerite's to pick up our Tubby and enjoyed one of her special "sticky buns" and then we were off to the ferry. We saw the stately "Mt. Baker" during our ferry ride.
We are staying in Langley tonight.
Regards to all,
Anne
