We started the day with a tour of the Western Development Museum which displayed the history and development of Saskatchewan. It was an outstanding museum which included a focus on agriculture and I saw lots of farm equipment and tools that brought back memories of my childhood....threshing machines, seed drills, milking equipment, ploughs.
Canadian Trivia - Our hotel and the museum was located in Battleford which was once the capital of the Northwest Territories.
On the road again, we met a VentureRider member and his wife for lunch at Cut Knife (the site of several First Nation uprisings against the North West Mounted PolicW) where we picked up tips on scenic roads to follow.
We were surprised to find fences still under water.
We continue to see beautiful scenery with amazing rich colours. We took a secondary highway into Alberta before we stopped for the evening.
The prairie winds today were brutal, although we've still been lucky that we haven't had rain.
Regards to all,
Anne
